L. Robin McKinney
Associate
L. Robin McKinney is an associate attorney with Brown, Garganese, Weiss & D'Agresta, P.A. Robin advises local governments on a wide range of municipal issues, including land use, real estate, board governance, and litigation. She has advocated on behalf of her clients in numerous state courts throughout Florida, the Second District Court of Appeal, and the federal courts of the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
Prior to joining Brown, Garganese, Weiss & D'Agresta, Robin practiced for five years as an Assistant City Attorney with the City of Tampa, where she defended the City from claims for personal injury, violations of Section 1983, breach of contract, and appeals arising from quasi-judicial decisions of the Tampa City Council. Robin served as lead counsel, handling an extensive case load from pre-suit investigation through jury trial and appeal. In addition to litigation, Robin provided legal counsel to the Community Affairs Department in its investigation of employment and housing discrimination complaints, and the Tampa Convention Center on both transactional and operational matters.
After completing the International Baccalaureate program at Winter Park High School, Robin graduated from Davidson College with a double major in History and French. Robin received her law degree with honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board. Outside of her legal practice, Robin regularly volunteers in the community with The Junior League. She enjoys traveling, cooking, hiking and writing.
