Alfred Truesdell
Senior Attorney
Alfred (Al) Truesdell is a senior attorney with Brown, Garganese, Weiss & D’Agresta, P.A. He practices in the area of Labor and Employment Law. He works with employers to develop preventative strategies and solutions to work place issues and to aggressively defend them in court when they are sued. Mr. Truesdell has defended large corporations as well as small and medium-sized businesses, in addition to various local governments. He has represented defense contractors, theme parks, corporations, local governments and family businesses.
Mr. Truesdell has experience litigating cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts as well as administrative agencies. He is admitted to practice in federal court in the Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Truesdell is a member of the Labor and Employment Law committee of The Florida Bar and the Orange County Bar Association. He also serves as the Legislative liaison to Volusia/Flagler Society for Human Resource Management. Mr. Truesdell has handled disputes before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Florida Commission on Human Relations, and the Public Employees Relations Commission. He has also represented employers in investigations by the U.S. Department of Labor and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
Mr. Truesdell has successfully resolved a wide variety of labor and employment law cases, including those involving discrimination based on race, age, disability, religion, national origin, gender and pregnancy. He also has handled cases involving sexual harassment, wage-and-hour disputes, medical leave, employee benefits, non-compete agreements, hiring and firing of employees, and safety investigations.
Mr. Truesdell has presented seminars on various employment related topics to managers and human resource professionals, and has had articles on legal issues published in local newspapers.
Mr. Truesdell graduated from the University of Florida Law School with an honors grade in Appellate Advocacy.
