Jennifer Barrington Nix

Jennifer Barrington Nix is a senior attorney with Garganese, Weiss, D’Agresta & Salzman, P.A. She focuses her practice on local government issues and land use law. Ms. Nix has past experience as an Assistant City Attorney for municipalities in Seminole County and Volusia County, and served for over three years as the Local Hearing Officer for a municipality as to both red light camera and animal control violations. Ms. Nix also has prior experience in general civil litigation and transactional matters, including probate and estate planning and administration, family law, general contract, real property, land use, and zoning matters.

Ms. Nix served as a Board Member for the Seminole County Young Lawyers Division from 2010 until 2014, including the position of President (2013/14) and Recording Secretary (2012/13). Ms. Nix is also a past Board Member of the Seminole Cultural Arts Council (2014-2015).

Ms. Nix earned her law degree from Barry University School of Law in 2008, where she was an academic scholarship recipient and competed nationally as a Moot Court Honors Board member. Ms. Nix earned three Book Awards (Contracts; Remedies; and Wills, Trusts & Estates) while attending law school, and served as the Mistress of Ceremonies of Law Day in 2008 for the Fifth District Court of Appeal. Ms. Nix also served as the inaugural President of the Barry University Student RPPTL (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law) Committee. While in law school, Ms. Nix studied abroad in Venice, Italy.

Ms. Nix graduated from the University of Florida in 2000 with a B.S. in Psychology and minors in Mass Communications and French language. Ms. Nix is admitted to practice law in Florida.
